Nestled in the extraordinary landscape embraced by Chitwan National Park and Parsa National Park, and connected to the wider Valmiki Tiger Reserve landscape of India, Thori is a remarkable destination blessed with rich biodiversity, natural spring water, diverse communities, artistic villages, and a living cultural heritage. Historically, this region—spanning the forests of Chitwan and Parsa—was once part of the grand royal hunting grounds of Nepal. It hosted prestigious hunting expeditions of the Nepalese royal family and visiting dignitaries, including the historic visit of King George V, reflecting its long-standing significance in the region’s royal and colonial-era wilderness history. This is a special land of the Bengal tiger, where forests and communities have shared the same landscape for generations. From the traditional Tharu settlement of Sikaribas deep within the forest to the region's distinctive local cuisine, traditions, and natural beauty, Thori offers an authentic experience that is uniquely its own. The story of Thori Jungle Resort began with a vision born from a person born and raised in Thori — a belief that the wilderness once seen as a challenge could become the greatest opportunity for the region. Together with a group of friends and fellow investors who shared this vision, the resort was established as one of the pioneering tourism destinations in the area, built around the belief that Thori's greatest assets are its nature, wildlife, people, culture, local resources, and authentic way of life.
